Rome - Naples - Mt. Vesuvius - Pompei - Sorrento (300 km)

In the morning, our driver-guide will meet you at the pre-arranged time and location to begin the journey.

Naples – famous for its rich history, arts and a legendary food scene.
-Sansevero Chapel: renowned for the sculpture “Veiled Christ”, where an exquisitely carved marble veil appears almost transparent.
-Santa Chiara Monastery: known for the colourful Majolica-tiled cloister and serene garden with orange trees—full of Mediterranean charm.
-Castel dell’Ovo: an ancient seaside fortress on a rocky islet. Legend says a magical egg hidden by the poet Virgil protects the city; enjoy stunning views of the Bay of Naples and Mt. Vesuvius from the walls.
-Galleria Umberto I: a magnificent 19th-century glass-roof shopping arcade with elegant interiors and mosaic floors—great for shopping and dining.

Mt. Vesuvius – Europe’s only active volcano, famed for its destructive eruptions.
-Hike up to the crater viewpoint: see the crater up close and sulfur steam; from the summit, enjoy panoramic views over Naples, Capri and the Pompeii area.

Pompeii Archaeological Site – an open-air history textbook revealing everyday Roman life from 2,000 years ago.
-House of the Vettii: a remarkably preserved wealthy merchant’s home with exquisite frescoes and a colonnaded courtyard.
-Amphitheatre: one of the oldest Roman amphitheatres, built about a century earlier than Rome’s Colosseum.
-Public Baths: explore the Roman bathing culture—frigidarium, tepidarium and caldarium—some facilities remain well preserved.
-Temple of Apollo & Forum: the political, religious and commercial centre, surrounded by key public buildings—feel the heart of Roman city planning.

Wednesday

Sorrento - Capri Island - Blue Grotto - Sorrento (45 km)

Sorrento – perched on dramatic tuff cliffs overlooking the Bay of Naples; an ideal base for Capri and the Amalfi Coast.

Capri Island – a famed retreat for Roman emperors, artists and the wealthy, celebrated for sapphire-blue waters and luxury villas.
-Sorrento Ferry Pier: take an optional ferry to Capri (about 40 minutes).
-Blue Grotto: take an optional small boat (about 15 minutes) to this must-see sea cave, famous for its dreamlike glowing blue water—often called the “Mediterranean Sapphire”.
-Anacapri Chairlift: optional open single-seat chairlift to Mt. Solaro, the island’s highest point—an immersive ride with magnificent 360-degree coastal views.

Thursday

Sorrento - Amalfi Coast - Positano - Amalfi (65 km)

Amalfi Coast – one of the world’s most beautiful coastlines and a “must-visit in a lifetime”; known for dramatic cliffs, colourful towns and rich history.

Positano – the jewel of the Amalfi Coast, often called one of the most romantic towns on the Mediterranean; famous for its vertical landscape and pastel houses.

Amalfi Town – once an independent Maritime Republic, now a charming seaside resort with a strong historic atmosphere.
-Cathedral of Saint Andrew: the most iconic church on the coast, blending Romanesque, Byzantine, Gothic and Baroque elements.
-Cloister of Paradise: a peaceful Arab-Norman style cloister beside the cathedral, with elegant arches and a tranquil garden.
-Museum of Paper: founded in 1969 on the site of one of Europe’s oldest paper mills (dating back to the 13th century), showcasing the traditional Amalfi paper-making process.
-Seafront stroll: walk the promenade, enjoy coastal views, sample local snacks and coffee, and soak up the romance of Southern Italy.

Amalfi - Caserta - Tivoli - Rome (310 km)

Caserta – built by order of King Charles VII of the Bourbon dynasty to rival Versailles and Spain’s Royal Palace of Madrid.
-Royal Palace of Caserta: one of Europe’s largest 18th-century palaces, designed by Luigi Vanvitelli—over 1,200 rooms, 24 grand halls, 1,742 windows and about 47,000 m² of floor area, with lavish Baroque and Neoclassical decoration.

Tivoli – Villa d’Este (“Hundred Fountains”): famed for its gardens with 500+ spectacular fountains and waterfalls; a UNESCO World Heritage Site (inscribed 2001) and a filming location of Bruce Lee’s classic movie.
-Avenue of the Hundred Fountains: lined with hundreds of small fountains and sculptures featuring eagles, lilies and boat motifs—showcasing remarkable engineering and artistry.
-Oval Fountain: a masterpiece of late Renaissance water-garden design, mimicking natural landscapes with cascades flowing into a giant semi-oval basin for a dramatic visual impact.
-Dragon Fountain: four dragon sculptures spouting powerful jets, built to commemorate Pope Gregory XIII’s visit (whose coat of arms features a dragon).
-Neptune Fountain: restored and enhanced in the 20th century; the Organ Fountain creates a roaring waterfall—an impressive fusion of art and engineering.

Arrive in Rome in the early evening; the driver-guide will drop you off at the pre-arranged location. Tour ends.
